Terrible loss for cinema and the arts. Rest in peace.

His masterpiece will always be the Elephant man starring John Hurt as Joseph Marrick. It took guts to tell such a tragic story in black and white. Even more guts from producer Mel Brooks to bet his name on this director who by that point had only made two other films. A true talent who will be missed. Rest in peace. 😪

I'm not remotely sad. Amazing guy who made my life better over and over again. Commercially successful and critically acclaimed; outside David Bowie it's hard to imagine a person who was more self-actualised than Lynch. Don't be sad he's gone, be happy we had him at all.

I would say it's a shame he's gone, but then again, he lived exactly the way he wanted to. He made his (damn fine) films, he smoked like a chimney and
he traveled the world promoting transcendental meditation to anyone who would listen.
Do I wish we could've gotten a fourth season of Twin Peaks? Sure, I do. But it wouldn't have given any conclusive answers. I think Lynch would've
been completely against the idea of a "happy" ending. It's not very interesting.
David Lynch lived a very interesting life. More interesting than most of us do. He paid the price for it, but said he had no regrets, and I believe him.

Rest in peace, Bureau Chief Gordon Cole. You served us well.

This just breaks my heart. Yes, he was older, and he smoked....a lot, but he almost seemed like he would just, continue on - he will continue on, as an icon of filmmaking - a true pioneer and unique. All his films were really special, but one that stands out for me is "Mulholland Drive". His masterwork imo. R.I.P. Good Sir.

This hit heavy. I was not ready. R.I.P to the legend.
I'm sorry, but I have to type heavyLoad here for the reference. If you know, you know.
He was such a character. There will never be another like him again. Farewell.

I've watched Twin Peaks for the first time in 2021/ 2022 and thanks to David's interest in spirituality, from 2022 - since I've read the Bhagavad-Gita (which I did in part because of him) - until now, I've been totally immersed in Indian spirituality and religions. Also, during times with some difficult people, he was a beacon of light with his weather forecast, which I used to follow daily just for the feeling of connection and meaning. Thank you, David Lynch, for making my life better! Om Shanti 🕉️🙏

I watched Twin Peaks when I was 13. It was 90s. Since then, I've been a big fan of him.
I puked when I first watched Eraserhead, and I was truly confused but also extremely fascinated by that masterpeace Blue Velvet.

I feel like I lost my father.
