He was a giant artist... It seems impossible to think about him as a dead man...

Lynch inspired me to never be ashamed of my creativity, to never stop dreaming, and to embrace the beauty of balance. I’m forever changed by this man

I have done an annual watch of Twin Peaks every February for years now and this just crushes me. We were all so lucky to have shared the world with him while we could.

"I've got good news. That gum you like is going to come back in style." - Not only were his images iconic, but his dialog was unforgettable too. R.I.P. to a great artist.

David wasn’t just a filmmaker. He had an awareness and was a great thinker and teacher. I can’t imagine the world now without him. A star just went out in the universe. 😔😢

I met him at UC Irvine about 20 years ago. He was giving some film lecture and you could tell just how passionate he was about his work. I got to shake his hand and my gf took a photo of us.... on her RAZR flip phone (great image quality right!?). Anyway, he was excited to talk about film and more importantly, about finding something you are passionate about and sticking with it.. staying true to yourself no matter what you do. He will always be remembered. R.I.P.

David Lynch is my favorite filmmaker. He was like an artistic father to me. I burst out into tears when I heard he died. I love him. He was a beautiful man and artist. Such a wonderful creator. Mullholand Drive, Lost Highway, Inland Empire, The Elephant Man are my favorite movies. He also did such beautiful and eerie work with his paintings, music, sculptures... Man, I will miss him a lot.

The two hour Twin Peaks pilot is still one of the best films ever made. Every couple of years I think that it can't be as good as I remember, then I watch it, and it's always better than I remember.

I love Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive. Very deep movies about the struggles in this life and a surprising afterlife. May he be laughing hysterically now.

Never, oh! Never, nothing will die; the stream flows, the wind blows, the cloud fleets, the heart beats... Nothing will die.
