Watching your kids go to college is tough. But when they get married is a heartbreaker. A big strong trucker balled his eyes out 😢

Welcome to menopause, Kurt. Tater will do great. You gave her the best foundation to build on. You'll be the only dad to pull in with a loaded semi for a visit. God bless.

It's bittersweet, one of the proudest days and one of the saddest days. It's what you've work so hard for but doesn't make feel any better.

No doubt many folks become very emotional about this time. My attitude is we raise our kids, prepare them for life and then send them out in the world to do good. For me this is a time for joy and a chance to marvel at their success. I hope you'll have the same experience I did. Be proud Papa and Mama! Smile a lot because their success is your success. Be well and thankee for the video.

I remember that Moving my daughter into her dorm. Great memories. She is 28 now. Married and lives in Kansas City. I live in Topeka.
She went to school in Manhattan which is only about an hour from Topeka. She went 6 years. 4 years undergrad and 2 years for her Masters.
We pulled our camper lots of weekends to visit and spend time. Find a nice campground with electricity and water and pull your camper there when you are missing her.
One Summer she lived in Omaha to do her Internship. She was pretty homesick so we drove to Omaha at least 2 weekends out of every month to hang out with her to make that Summer bearable for her. When she moved to college it took me about 6 months of waking up in a start wondering where my kids were. There definitely was something about her not being in the house. I had a hard time relaxing and sleeping. After that wore off, I did okay.
It's a rite of passage for them and us! Making memories all the way. These kids are lucky they are so dearly loved. Lots out there are not.

Good luck to Tater! It will be ok Kurt. Just remember, the less you know the better. If my daughter had told me the stories while she was still in school dad wouldve been there with the pickup and trailer loading her and her stuff.😂

Just watched my GodDaughter graduate from Harvard a couple months ago, seemed like just yesterday we were moving her into her dorm. Time goes so quickly! Enjoy every moment, even the “misty” ones, Kurt.

I remember like it was yesterday when my youngest, my daughter started college. We moved her into the dorms at Dallas Baptist University and I held it together until I got to the parking lot, then I cried like a baby. Oh yeah, the school was probably a 30-45 minute drive from home. Sad huh.

Tator has her vehicle and it's not an overly long drive. I can see her driving back home for a weekend every once in a while, especially once the newness and novelty of dorm life wears off.

Surprisingly, I made it through undergrad, and then law school, without shedding a tear. You’ll do fine.
