I've been buying a lot of books from Ianos and Politeia online - from Greek language course books to dictionaries and novels. I've even managed to buy quite a few Greek translations of some of my favourite novels too and this is proving to be another great and exciting way of learning Greek. The books are such good quality also, so I don't mind spending a lot of money on them.

I decided I would learn Demotic Greek and all its varieties, including the lovely Cretan dialect, before Classical and Hellenistic Greek, although I'm reading a lot of the New Testament in the original κοινή.

'Tis a shame that Modern Greek, and really all post-classical Greek, is passed on by Classicists or non-greeks. They forget that Greek culture and history, and its immortal language, continued well past the Roman periods.

Thank you for the recommendations. I have only just began studying Greek and currently working through a Udemy course and was looking for books. I've just started to learn Greek. I've manage to be able to read the words, but don't understand the grammar well, which makes it difficult to understand the more complicated words.
