Well done! I am very glad that you know the Greek language so well and have delved into the words. When I hear that someone wants to learn Greek, what I advise him is to look at the origin of the words. Also the ancient Greek language, even though it is more difficult and has differences in relation with the new Greek it can help him a lot.

The Greek alphabets are fairly easy for me (comparing with languages in East Asia)

Ευχαριστώ Αλέξη που προσφέρεις σε όλους τους λαούς να δουν τις λέξεις που προέρχονται από τα αρχαία ελληνικά ❤

He gave good tips.

I would really like to watch a testimonial from a person who did not have Greek exposure as a child via parents/family. That would really give confidence to people who wish to learn the language.

Whereas I have picked up quite a bit of Italian during my travels to Italy (because English is not widely spoken In Italy).
I must confess to having just gone along with the fact that so many Greeks speak English, and are quite keen to do so.
However, having found your channel I'm going to make a concerted effort to add to the few Greek words I know.
Thanks from Denmark

I know many words -stringing them together is a challenge - also, you must learn to think in Greek - you cannot translate word for word English to Greek. You do a great job of explaining the meanings and origin !

This is a nice summary of what you need to learn Greek. I’ve been learning for over 18 months now and really enjoy speaking Greek when I can.

I'm nitpicking here, but your phrasing of " erhetai sto sosto simeio" means you are arriving at the correct point; a better translation would be: irthatai sto sosto meros (you have arrived at the right place).

No disrespect but saying you speak South African could easily be seen here in SA as offensive, considering our not so distant past, where fellow South Africans who spoke english had to learn Afrikaans by mandate. And to a lesser extent the black natives aswell. We have 12 official languages here today.

I'm gonna take a guess and say it's probably Zulu or Afrikaans seeing as you can speak Dutch.
