No worms harmed or killed during the silk production, , i did my internship in silkworm seed production and they didn’t get boiled, the cocoon will be cut through blade and they remove the pupae and preserved in 25degree c and 75 % humidity, after 48 hrs the pupae becomes moth then moth emergence happens (pairing and separation) after that females lays eggs about 300-350 averagely then it dies naturally and egg get washed and dried in chamber then eggs transferred to the incubation then hatched eggs transferred to the seed rarer, so, no worms get killed during the process and 1 cocoon with pupare costs around 18 rupees 👍🏼

I remember watching my silkworms built their cocoons when I was a kid. They always turned in different colors: some white, others yellow, orange.. and then having the box full of moths.
