I honestly prefer counter strafing because then it's move mouse horizontal and you don't need to worry about recoil because of smoothing

I was told to break their ankles. act like you’re strafing back-and-forth but instead do a little step back like you’re going to go in another direction, but then keep going the other way

The guy you are mirroring are mirroring you as well
When I do this sometimes I can hit 200 with half a mag of CAR but still loses to a 1v1 because your opponent did the same thing.

Bruh it works in reverse too my man. If they don't know your there, or have worse aim/tracking skills, then sure, itll work, especially of their used to normal strafing. But if they're still better or have better guns, they'll still drop you because.... your strafing the same direction as them. The thing that's helping you is helping them too. Still improves tracking, but if they're better at tracking they'll still flatten you.

Real quick if you're still struggling with this I'd reccomend reducing fov, I'm on console playing on a monitor and changed my fov to 100° its really helped me track other players and get more kills :)

Try left right strafing while tracking without shooting, and wait for your opponent to get into a position you're sure you can hit them in right before firing to ensure that they don't hit you, and you focus better on hitting them

Ironically enough I struggle with mirroring and hit way more shots when counter strafing 😂
