Actually, the reason mice and rats are used in experiments are because of their quick breeding time (their pregnancy lasts about two weeks) and their similar genetic structure (at least that's how it is with rats). They're also highly trainable, which probably doesn't matter but it's still fun trivia :3

This reminds me of the best friends test: I invented a test in which you determine whether someone is one of your closest friends or not by asking them the question "remember when we almost died?" out of context. If a memory surfaces and they respond "yes" then they are one of you're closest friends. If not, then you have not had enough experiences with that person to be able to call them a close friend.
