3:22 Removal: Sometimes a piece of pipe from your local hardware store will fit. You'd hammer against it and some wood for a lower chance of scratches. 3:49 string will also do.

use the drive side cup to remove the non drive side. This implies not to remove totally the drive side cup and proceed as described with the wood and nice and easy :-)

Couldn't you just thread the cups together and tighten them with two tools instead of using a press?

i need help, i have my 2018 specialized tarmac sl4 sport, run with the original bottom bracket which is Praxis alba m30 with praxis works crankset (CRANKSET: Praxis Alba M30, solid forged arms, 6061 chainrings, 110 BCD, 11-speed) and i want to change them to shimano hollowtech, i already bought shimano hollowtech crankset (FC-6800). The question is what type/model of shimano bottom bracket should i use and do i also need sleeve? thanks you guys, all answers are appreciated.

I know i am late but i want to ask if i can use retaining compound with a thread-together bb, would that not be better than grease or antiseize? i ask because i replaced my bb and the creaking is still there on the power stroke and i used grease. i suspect a badly made frame, but its hard to know....

Why wouldn't you use this method @4:10 every time? Looks like you'd avoid potential bearing or frame damage completely.

Can I re-use a thread-together bb (Wheels Mfg) that has been properly removed and whose bearings feel smooth like butter, or is that a risky proposition? It is going right back into the same bike/bb shell that it was removed from (friend wanted to try some Cobb cranks, but didn't like them). I have reached out to Wheels Mfg but haven't heard back. Thank you!

I am building a bike with a frame meant for a press fit bb. I am guessing from this comment at 1:40 that you can replace a press fit bb with a thread together bb. Am I correct in thinking that?

These are really just a way for the engineers that designed creaky, badly-toleranced (unmanufacturable in volume) pressfit BBs to avoid looking like complete chumps. They are attempting to fix a problem that should never have occurred in the first place, if the great big bicycle manufacturing companies weren't in the habit of beta-testing products on their customers (and the outsourcing of non-robust major component systems to 3rd party manufacturers, who don't QC as they go).
