I review, breakdown and explain Black Mirror Season 7. I give my reaction to each of the episodes such as Common People, Bete Noire, Hotel Reverie, Plaything, Eulogy and the USS Callister sequel, into Infinity. I discuss the new season of Charlie Brooker’s Sci-Fi anthology TV series, the deeper meaning of the endings and how it connected back to the show's roots from Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4 and how it moved away from what made Season 5 and Season 6 bad. I also give my theories and predictions on Season 8 and the future of the show.

Now that Season 7 of Black Mirror is out, I thought i'd do a reply to my previous video where I asked the question on if the new season would save the show! Share your thoughts on if you agree and I hope you enjoy the video!

Even so-so episodes of Black Mirror are still a thousand times better than 90 % of other shows. I always enjoy these reviews.

I think this saved the Black Mirror because all of the episodes are rewatcheable. Just the right amount of "wtf".

Common People is now my all time favorite, while also my most hated, episode of Black Mirror. I have been taking care of my wife who has cancer for two years now, and that episode perfectly captures the weight of the universe (and bills) through the husband's perspective, the detereoration is real. It's proper Black Mirror. Fuck that episode.

I played the Thronglets game before watching the Playthings episode, and I thought that made a pretty significant difference to my viewing experience. Very well done.

Season 7 is the rebirth of Black Mirror. Just in time for Easter lol.

The first episode is the saddest thing I’ve ever watched

I disagree about Miley Cyrus. They didn't cast her because of her star power, but because the episode was basically a spin on Hannah Montana.

Anyway, I love your analysis as well as this season of Black Mirror! WE'RE BACK!

Season 6 wasnt great as a whole, but I love that the writer tried something new and showed a different style of his. Loch henry is fantastic, but not typical black mirror at all.

If you don't like season 7, this clearly isn't the show for you.

I definitely think they should cast more unknown cast again.

It was so cool to have to watched black mirror with my dad in around 2013ish, fast forward a few years later there’s all the buzz about Get Out, and I find it’s the same actor. I was really proud of the guy in that moment.

I hate that miley is dragged... it made the episodes concept more realistic. It made it feel real, as she is a recognised celeb to us the viewers.

My season 7 rankings:

1. Eulogy
2. Bête Noir
3. Common People
4. Playthings
5. USS Calister
6. Hotel Reverie

****Spoilers below****

The romance in hotel reverie was not believable to me at all, and the ending wasn't satisfying. The performance of the old-timey actress was amazing though.

USS Callister was fun and an excellent example of world-building. However the plot relied on too many coincidences and last-second saves in my opinion.

Playthings was engaging all the way through. No major notes. I could've put it higher.

Common people was also great all the way through, if a bit predictable and a mashup of already-explored ideas. This felt something like another version of Repo Men.

Bête Noir gets second place for me because of how frightening one actor's performance was (literally brought back memories of a psycho ex) and how believably frightened the other actor was. And the implications of the tech introduced. Also love how she became corrupted in exactly the same way once she had the opportunity.

Eulogy was emotional, relatable, and heartwarming. The difficulty in moving on emotionally, even for many years when something doesn't make sense to you was especially relatable. And when you finally get answers that make sense it's such a huge relief. Crazy also to think how such minor events and non-events can steer our life trajectories in wildly different directions.

S7 blew me away! They did such a good job, and it felt like classic Black Mirror. Me personally, I was satisfied 👍 great video

It was overall a very solid season, and I agree that it didn't have any bad episodes (personally I only thought Hotel Reverie was a bit so-so, but not bad). But I also think season 6 gets too much unfair hate despite being an improvement over season 5. "Beyond the Sea" and "Loch Henry" are among my favourite episodes, and "Joan is Awful" was an enjoyable watch too. I personally only think the two fantasy horror episodes were out of place in season 6, but they didn't ruin the rest of the season for me, because the others more than made up for it. I think it's worth keeping in mind that Black Mirror is not only about future technology, but future society and human psychology too, which is why we have some good episodes with just modern-day technology. But in general, I agree, season 7 is one of the stronger seasons of the whole show.

with season 7 i was never thinking "what did i just watch" in a bad way, i was intrigued and curious but never disoriented. I may have to rewatch the seaon to get a better grip on my favourite but Plaything is probably my favourite up to now.

The fact you didn’t name Tracey Ellis-Ross and Issa Rae 😢😢 0:58

Why wasn’t Issa Rae included in this?? She’s very much a big actor, she had her own and produced other shows on HBO…
