War Chest: BlizzCon 2017 introduces more than 70 new items (spread across three phases), including sprays, emoticons, exclusive portraits, and StarCraft II’s first army-wide skins, all for a steeply discounted price.

Each War Chest begins with a single unit skin and an exclusive portrait. Additional skins are divided into three phases, and can be unlocked by playing Multiplayer or Co-op matches during or after the corresponding phase, until by the end of the challenge you have a full set. 25% of all War Chest purchases go directly to StarCraft II esports. The first $200K will be added to the $500K BlizzCon 2017 prize pool, with any surplus contributing to StarCraft II event production.

I don't really mind microtransactions as long as they are only for non-gameplay items. If this means we get more skins and other cool, but 100% optional features, I'm all for it.

Can we get the coop commanders to be able to be played against other actual live players in the multi player gameplay? And can we please also have a multiplayer Starcraft 1/Broodwar type multiplayer gameplay as well? These are just a few new optional suggestions, that could be implemented into the Starcraft multiplayer game play.

Good for Starcraft, learning from dota, finally.
Even as a dota player I will support this.
Everyone should know about The International and how beneficial the compendium has been so don't be ignorant douches, be supportive.
I just hope Blizzard don't over-do it and promise too much or don't listen to the community when stuff is iffy.

People seem to be QQing a lot about this. I mean it's vanity stuff people, it is NOT pay to win stuff. Just for vanity stuff. It worked well for Overwatch and thus they are doing it in their other games. I have no problem with this at all, hopefully some of this cash will go into funding SC3 or something too. It'll give a lot of people like me, who have no reason nowadays to go back and play sc2, to do so again. I never bought a single chest in overwatch and yet i have nearly all the skins/emotes i could want.

You people are out of your minds for disliking this. 10 bucks for an entire army skin is a steal. Dota 2's compendium may start at 10, but you almost inevitably end up paying several times that to unlock everything

Guys, you have to understand that is a business. As long as you dont get any advantage over your opponent is all good. I dont understand why you get so mad when someone ask you money for something which, as i sayd, dont even affect the gameplay.
