Karnataka Elections 2023 : Congress Snatches Victory From BJP, Sweeps Polls | CNBC-TV18

The Congress party has raced ahead of the halfway mark, indicating a clear win for the party. As of 2.30 pm, Congress+ was leading in 136 seats, while the BJP was ahead in 63 seats. A party needs at least 113 seats to form the government in the state.

In a major boost for the Congress party, state president D K Shivakumar swept Kanakapura with over 70 per cent votes. Shivakumar is among the candidates gunning for the chief ministerial berth. The fight is expected to come down to Shivakumar and Congress legislature party leader and former CM Siddaramaiah. Sources indicated that Siddaramaiah seems ahead in the numbers game.
