Missing Sub: Scientist recalls his own experience in a sub 20 years ago

Speaking to Sky News, Scientist Dr Michael Guillen recalled his trip to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in a Russian submersible over 20 years ago and how he thought he would die as his vessel became trapped on the Titanic's propeller.

"I'm sick to my stomach to think of those poor people down there, I know what it is like," he said.

I never new this man before the story of the Titanic submersible emerged. But at least now I know that the Titanic wreckage is more than just a tourist site. The risks involved in touring the site are indeed very enormous . The final resting place of the Titanic should just be left undisturbed.

I live in Belfast where Titanic was built and I've walked the length of her 1000 foot dry dock and fished off it at night fall. The atmosphere around the place is eerie and full of sadness and I have no doubt she wasn't ever going to be a lucky ship and as such should be left alone as no good can come from disturbing her or those she took down with her over a century ago.
