its awkward because anne acts REALLY nervous and james is very very relaxed

OK I finally watched this. As an award host, Anne was absolutely 100% perfect in every way, Her style fits the celebratory atmosphere. She was a trooper for staying upbeat, and calm while trying to salvage one of the most dreaded situations an actor could be in - acting with a log. A guy who gave her less than zero. Blaming her for this is absolutely ridiculous.

The main problem seems to be a total lack of chemistry between them, not the right duo (besides lame material - but that is all awards shows).

I think Anne is just performing. It’s far more entertaining that what James is doing. He can’t even look at her. She can hide that fact that she hates him and still look in his direction.

Anne Hathaway isn't trying "too hard" she's trying period and it actually would come off better if she had someone opposite her that could match her energy. Unfortunately Franco is doing the least.

tbh i think Anne was overacting, but only to try and compensate for the fact that James Franco looked like he didn't even want to be there
