Barn find Lamborghini survivor - abandoned 30 years ago

Welcome to another Barn find episode of The Late Brake Show, where Jonny Smith unearths an incredibly rare Lamborghini survivor. The car has secretly sat inside a stone barn, abandoned 30 years ago after the owner mysteriously disappeared. This is a British right hand drive Lamborghini Espada, of which only 130 were made (there were over 1200 Espadas in total made between 1968 and 1978).

Thanks for stopping by The Late Brake Show.

The mysterious nature of this discovery is just as intriguing as the rarity of the RHD Lamborghini V12, as Jonny learns that the deceased land owner was actually storing the car for a person who paid for several months storage and then never returned. That was over 30 years ago! There was no information in writing about the owner, and the solicitor land owner was left owed for decades of unpaid rent. The traditional stone barn had no windows and sat in a very secretive part of the Lake District, near Kendal.

Amongst the idyllic scenery passers-by would never suspect what may be inside the barn. The Lamborghini was hidden by sheets of wood, a layer of owl droppings and constant darkness. It was also boxed in by a 1990s Vauxhall Cavalier and Calibra, also unclaimed by their original owners.

The Barn find playlist episodes are proudly supported by Adrian Flux insurance, who Jonny has used to insure his own classic, modern and modified vehicles with for many years. Adrian Flux have their own Youtube channel:

Main takeaway for me; is that even now, in some dark and dusty corners of the world, there are still wonderful and amazing things to be discovered.

Wonderful find, great presentation Jonny… thanks so much for sharing!!

This is why I don’t bother watching tv anymore, when there’s this sort of well made, enthusiastic and honest content from such engaging people as Johnny

The owl droppings might have been a blessing in disguise, if the owls kept the mice out of the wiring!

Jonny - please try to follow the auction on this and see if whoever buys this will let you do a follow up - it could be an interesting journey! Love this

Great video. Just shared this with my father in law, he worked as a mechanic for Lamborghini in the late 60’s early 70’s in London, he recognised the car and said he would have driven and worked on it.

The term "barn find" tends to be used for any old car that's been off the road for more than a decade or two, but this, THIS is a Barn Find.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I adore the laid back vibe of this show. That combined with interesting background information brought by someone who actually knows his stuff and did the research. Oh yeah, and what a car!

I have to admit my interest in the car is overwhelmed by my curiosity about the mystery

For at least thirty years enthusiasts have been searching UK barns for worthy vehicles. To still find such a car is near-on miraculous.
You’ve got to wonder just how many of these buildings we have got in this country and when are we going to exhaust them!🤔
Love the laid-back pace of your vids, Jonny. You tell it like it is, with enthusiasm but without the showmanship. Right on.

Absolutely amazing story behind this. How it was never found in the age of urban exploration…. Glad they got you involved too, felt like part of the adventure. Love it, great work.

Yo, whoever did the video of this intro is awesome. I mean, look at the view through the bushes, then the black dog barking, the drone overview, then the guy walking through the field to the barn. This first 30 seconds with the music, felt top notch. Y'all bodied this video bro!!!!
