After my first experience on a plane with Mia she started rejecting the carrier. Not only she did not like the carrier, she would hide from it as soon as I would take it out.
The solution?
First I helped her associate the carrier with good things, later I taught her to get into the carrier on command.
There are 3 ways to teach your cat to get on the carrier that PROS use and you can learn in 10 minutes!
- Finger Targeting
- Target Stick Targeting
- Verbally
My favorite one is the verbal command. By teaching your cat to get inside the carrier on command, you can not only save time when you travel, you will also save energy and keep your cat cool and relaxed!
