it's sad Money Advice has to come from a fellow young adult instead of most kid's parents, thanks so much bro! i will apply these tips, I've learned from this video to use Money Wisely not Wastefully

I was able to buy a 2005 Honda civic for only $2000 3 years ago now and just ran into my first problem which was only the ignition starter switch so 60 dollars was my highest repair yet and the car is at 300, 000 miles with a clean title it’s been a great car

Very solid advice bro, remember guys you don’t always need the exact amount, you can bring $500 less and the owner will still say yes sometimes

I agree with some of this. 5k is kind of alot for a first car tho. Find a cheap car that needs a little bit of work, then fix it, drive it until the wheels falls off. Bought a car for 600 last year at 98k miles, got the brake lines fixed and still driving it 6k miles later. Don't spend that much if you just got your license and Its your literal first car.

Hey, this is a great video. And you're are pretty smart guy to have understood the burden of car payment right out of college. One thing you are missing out on is that almost all the cars that you are skipping might actually be clean title cars. Just because it doesn't say clean title in the description does not mean they are salvage title. Mostly the seller doesn't bother to share everything about the car, so its better to ask them if its clean title. Salvage title happens when the car is written off by insurance. It can be due to accident some time but not all the time. If you fix the issues on the car then you can get a rebuilt title. But a clean title would fetch a higher price and sell much easier than a rebuilt title.

btw for young drivers 16-18 im also 16 and im going to buy a used car with cosmetic damage cause just accept theres a good chance your gonna get curb rash or bump into something and you can bargin with them to get even more off the car and takes off a lot of extra stress that you get when you buy a really nice clean car

also remember that clean titles give the best insurance rates. rebuilt and salvage titles will increase your insurance rates and nobody wants that.

it pisses me off that dealers took over FB marketplace, i cant even filter without seeing newer cars priced at $2000 or $1500. All scams, FB is a no go for me.

Maybe it's j ust America, but 5-7 Grand for a first car is insane, thats way too much seeing as how you have to consider insurance and tax. Here in Europe you can get great cars for less than 1500-2500

Exactly Facebook marketplace or craigslist. Honestly, I suggest Toyota or Honda because they don’t break down a lot. You could go to a junkyard auction but it’s a junk for a reason.

Edit we were both thinking the same thing about the Honda & Toyota 😂

yup i plan to buy my caring full on fb as well instead of down payments and i’m 20! it just smarter tbh but be careful of scams and people selling lemons
