Who were the Withered Animatronics? (The Missing Location)

Today we are taking a look back in the past at the incident surrounding Fnaf 2's eye-catching, face-snatching, T-posing band of broken bots, the Withered Animatronics. Who were they really? What did they have to do with the Missing Children Incident, and what really happened after the diner?

Withered Bonnie contemplating if he's trapped, Withered Chica saying she was the first and saw everything, Puppet saying the others are like animals. The older animatronics seem to be the most "there" compared to the others who revel in their own little worlds

Withered Freddy's hat lays beside him on the floor in the backroom, but when he moves it appears back on his head. Freddy Canonicaly is the most classy animatronic confirmed

The Toys are 100% haunted. In FNaF AR, set decades later and with way more technological advances at their disposal, the engineers responsible for making replicas of all the old animatronics stated that it was impossible to replicate Mangle's ability to crawl along ceilings, confirming that the original's ability to do so was indeed supernatural. It's still debatable as to HOW they became haunted, but they were absolutely haunted, as opposed to merely "glitching out".

T-posing Chica got to be my favourite Withered. She's so creepy, yet still pretty goofy. I appreciate that balance

The Withered animatronics are genuinely some of the most uncanny looking characters in the whole series. The hazardous exposure on Chica & Bonnie, how dead they look in the hallway, the fact that they’re all giant. Really good character design.

Oh and to answer your question, they were attorneys. They’re kept in the back to bail Fazbear Entertainment out every time a child goes missing..or if they just commit tax fraud.

The point that the original springlocks were meant to fit "adult men" is actually really interesting. We think of suits as like... six and a half feet tall maybe? I mean when you go to Mouseland or whatever. But those actors have a maximum height requirement of like 5'4". The average height of an adult male is something like 5'9 (I'm not checking, this just on vibes). So those suits, even being more formfitting than normal, would likely be sevenish feet. Which... is monstrous for a child lol

It's kind of silly how we don't know what the name for this line that Fazbear Ent. uses is, cause like, there's no way that they're genuinely inputted as the "Withered Animatronics" considering there was at least one nanosecond of them not being withered

Okay, so basically, what location did the Withered animatronics come from?

This might sound weird but we've been to that location. It's the location from FNAF 1.

Now, obviously FNAF 1 doesn't canonically take place before FNAF 2, but the location that's featured in FNAF 1 was the same location as the original Freddy's.

We know this based on information given to us in FNAF 2 AND FNAF 3.

First off, in FNAF 2, we see a version of the Missing Children's Incident in the Foxy Go, Go, Go! minigame. In this minigame we specifically see Foxy emerging from pirates cove and running into the show room, which matches up with where pirates cove is located in the FNAF 1 location, a room adjacent of the show room.

Second, in the first phone call during FNAF 2, Phone Guy makes an off-hand comment talking about how the new office in the FNAF 2 location doesn't have doors you can close but also can't run out of power.

This means that whatever location came before the restaurant in FNAF 2 had a security office with doors you could close and would have a tendency to run out of power. The only location with an office like this was the FNAF 1 location.

3rd, in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, the "Follow Me" minigames featuring the original animatronics being lured to the backroom so Afton can destroy them and later become Springtrap.

What's important about this minigame is that the layout of the pizzeria map in the "Follow Me" minigame is the same exact restaurant layout as the FNAF 1 location, you'll see this if you compare the minigame map to the FNAF 1 layout from the cameras.

But what's really important is that in "Follow Me" we see that the FNAF 1 location has a saferoom, and not only that, but that saferoom has a Spring Bonnie costume inside of it.

This is how we know the location from the first game was the original Freddy's. If the location from FNAF 1 was indeed a completely new restaurant, it wouldn't have a saferoom attached to it, since those were discontinued long before FNAF 1 takes place. The fact that this location not only had a saferoom, but also has the same Spring Bonnie suit inside used in the murders, proving this is the same as the original location.

Basically, the original Freddy's was resued by the company during the events of FNAF 1 after they found themselves in huge debt post-FNAF 2. You can also tell this isn't a new building because of just how old and dingy the pizzeria looks in FNAF 1, cobwebs, and other jazz.

The Withereds came from the first location, were brutally ripped apart and stored away like a dirty secret inside the new location in FNAF 2. They were then repaired and made into the classic animatronics, only to be taken back to the original location where they lost their lives and continue to perform there in a cruel twist of irony.

I wish that Withered Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica had a different mechanic in FNAF2. Instead being the same as Toy Freddy where you just have to put the mask on when they’re in the office to get rid of them, they’re similar to Withered Foxy, but stead of shining the flashlight when they’re in the hole you have to shine the flashlight when they’re on the cameras.

Also the Withered are one of the best variations, and I can’t wait to see them in the second movie.

I LOVE how the Withereds parallel the Rock-Afire Explosion animatronics from Showbiz Pizza; both were meant to be reused. However, the only differences are that Billy Bob was the only model truly used for parts, and the rest of The Rock-Afires were fully recycled into the bases of the Chuck-E-Cheese Animatronics (besides their original casing).

Withered Bonnie has to be my favorite of the withereds. Bonnie has always been my favorite since FNAF 1, but I just feel so bad for him. Out of all of the withereds, he's had the most damage. It's also just the absolute most badass design. He's so damn intimidating.

The Withereds are arguably one of the best animatronics type animatronics. I feel like most people can agree that the Withereds are great
