Proud to say my Dad was at Omaha Beach, the second wave. He was a medic and saved many lives. He died in my arms of cancer at the age of 78. I still cry about his passing more than 20 years ago. He WAS the greatest generation! God bless him

My grandmother survived several german bombings in her hometown in 1942. 50 years later i went to meet her in her home. A piston engine aircraft was passing over us. Her voice started to tremble and she slowly pushed herself to a corner covering her ears. Some experiences will never go away.
