I actually liked this theory until she said “so Nemo never existed”. I thought the theory was gonna just be that the mom ate the eggs and marlin was so traumatized he remembers it being a barracuda attack to cope. Not that Nemo never existed lol

Although this is biologically correct, deleted scenes from 2001-2002 and interviews with the crew (Especially Andrew Stanton and Bob Peterson) depict that the intention was for the barracuda to indeed devour Coral and her children; this attack may be more accurately described as 'rare' and 'unusual', even dare to say out of spite (the barracuda just killing them for reasons rather than hunger, perhaps just aggresivity)

The barracuda was actually a Good Samaritan and tried to stop the mom from eating the eggs 🙏🙏🙏

Nah. Barracudas would eat clownfish. But they choose bigger and faster and energetic fish so when the mom swam fast to the eggs the barracuda probably did go after the mom so if anybody wondered where the mom is probably in the barracuda probably ate her.

What doesn't make any sense is that Coral wouldn't of had enough time to gather up any of those eggs to eat as long as the barracuda was after her, so the barracuda was the one that ate the eggs instead, and Coral, because he was quicker. Also, if any eggs were left behind when the barracuda took a bite of anything in that cave, he was so quick and tense that he could've just rushed through that time of eating and swam away immediately, letting a small amount of eggs to fall out of the cave, but leaving behind only one egg is physically impossible since the barracuda was that ferociously impulsive to take and run just like that. But also, maybe it was a miracle that Nemo was left behind, and it actually did happen. But it's open to anyone's interpretation.
