Thanks Allen - that was perfect as I have a Baxi/Potterton 33 Gold Combi, which is pretty much identical. The bit that caught me was not knowing about the top/rear screw on the spark generator which cost a couple of minutes as you didn't show undoing that but it was kind of obvious once I had a taller stool and better light. If I have to do it again the whole job won't take more than ten minutes or so. That's saved me a few bob and if it turns out the diaphragm's failed and I need to replace the vessel I can see how to do that now.

Another good video Allen, Baxi Duo-Tec, great boiler, very easy to work on and bomb proof in my opinion

Great help, thanks! But it looks like they missed an easy option there, they could have moved the red thing up a bit and had a removeable bung in the top so people didn't have to strip down the boiler to access the valve.

hi Alan I would like to make sure about the steps to top up expansion vessel as u mention in one comment one end has to to be opened. i have Worcester which filling loop built in .
1.switch off boiler
2. drain system
3. close drain valve and isolate flow and return
4. put the filling loop in open position
5.top up expansion vessel
6. add inhibitor
7. pressurise the system

Brilliant. Had a kinked hose to start with, but pressure still going up will try this next

Can you not just leave the extension hose for the foot pump in place? So it will make it a lot easier for the next service?

hi Allen in the commercial world we use nitrogen to top up vessels because normal air can reduce the life of the bladder

Hey pal, I’m here in the States. You should do a video on changing that expansion device. What’s involved in changing that existing expansion tank?. I hear it’s so involved that many guys just put an expansion device outside of the unit. What’s your experience?

Hello Allen
I am new gas gas safe engineer and learnt a lot from videos from you and other senior engineers. Just like to ask you where to get this extension hose as I can’t find it any where, also can we use car tyre inflator to re pressure expansion vessel?

Hi Alan, great video. So didn't realise you could drain the boiler from the magnetic filter. Please shed some light on it. Thanks.
