Ben is flexing his Chinese ability now adding the phrase "I want that one" to his earlier phrase "I want this one". 加油

The green one is the dessert Qingtuan used to commemorate the ancestors of the Qingming Festival on April 4th, which is mostly sold during this period and is limited to the season.
Every festival in China has its own unique food festival, just like the New Year's rice cake and the moon cake of the Mid-Autumn Festival

In the narrative of Western mainstream media for decades, China's economy and government have never stopped collapsing.😂

China has been trying to boost domestic consumption instead of relying on exports for economic growth

Interesting perspective! China's resilience is undeniable, even after the tariffs. 💼📈

The green snack, called Qingtuan, is eaten to remember deceased relatives during the traditional Chinese festival Qingming, April 4th. Usually few people will eat Qingtuan

Ben! I am sooo proud and delighted to see you using your Chinese again! So FUN to see you interacting. And Reanne's reaction to it aswell. Love, love, love! The negga, zegga and ee ge was great! And you even said 'Yao'. SO COOL! Next level could be to ask if something is sweet or salty (for instance a filling of something) you can ask 'tian de haishi xian de'? So pronounciation is: 'TeeAnne de (like how you say Reanne; meaning sweet), Hi (like hello, hi) Shhhuh (like shh be quiet) = or, XeeAnne de (= salty, the 'X' is a bit harder but you can just use the 'Shhh' be quiet sound. So in short: 'TeeAnne de Hi Shhuh SheeAnne de'? They could respond by just repeating which ever it is or 'Rou de' (aka 'Row de' (row row row your boat lol) which means 'meat' and usually it's pork. Another option is just pointing and asking: 'TeeAnne de ma?' Just adding the 'ma' at the end is making it more of a question. Same goes with 'SheeAnne de ma?'.

Also standard fillings of these rice cakes (like Japanese Mochi but every Asian country has their version) are: Red Bean, Black sesame, Lotus paste and Pork floss (can be a yellow brown). Come to think of it what's becoming more popular in the West with like 'healthy' vegan versions of things has been a thing in China for ages. It's all very plantbased without the butter and loads of sugar. I wouldn't say they are 'healthy' but probably 'healthier' because of the lower sugar content.

When there is meat fillings in something, I would say 70% chance that would be pork in China. Btw, Ben did pretty good on ordering the snacks in Chinese. 👍👍
