Why Gojo Wasn't the Best MENTOR for Megumi | Jujutsu Kaisen Theory

Gojo Satoru's mentorship of Megumi Fushiguro may not have been the best decision for the young sorcerer. While Gojo is the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen and possesses valuable knowledge, his unique approach doesn't suit Megumi. Gojo struggles with empathy, which he unintentionally passes on to Megumi. Fushiguro, however, is kind and selfless, willing to sacrifice himself for others. Gojo's teachings of emotional repression and selfishness clash with Megumi's nature, hindering their connection. Unlike Gojo's relationship with Itadori, their bond is strictly professional, lacking the easygoing friendship they share. Gojo's traumatic past prevents him from empathizing with his students' struggles. He pushes Megumi to achieve his potential, hoping he can surpass him one day. While Megumi becomes a strong sorcerer, he represses his emotions and experiences unhealthy outbursts. Gojo's teaching methods create powerful sorcerers but neglect the development of their character. Taking Megumi under his wing was best for Gojo, not Megumi's growth and happiness.Nezuko's SIZE Means More Than You Might Think | Demon Slayer Theory

Gojo " I will foster a strong and intelligent group, I will never leave anyone alone". He clearly has love for his students and he knows exactly how to push and foster each of them in the correct manner.

[SPOILER]: Actually you’re completely wrong.. Toji is Megumi’s father which Gojo killed for trying to kill him and Toji’s final request was to stop his son from being sold to the zenin clan, in which he did.

Gojo tries to help Megumi grow as a sorcerer by explaining to him that it’s okay to be selfish sometimes.. never did he ever say he had to do anything.

ever since Gojo took Megumi in as a child, he has been like a father figure to Megumi so therefore the relationship between them is definitely not “just professional”.

Being a Jujutsu Sorcerer is about embracing what’s given to you as a curse, and use it as a blessing in order to create a safer environment for everyone so Megumi not being his typical self while exorcizing curses is not a Gojo’s teaching problem but just a JujutsuKaisen thing in general.

I don't think we're watching the same series here- Because while it is true that Gojo's life has made it hard for him to actually connect with people, he is still a very empathetic person! He struggles with normal social cues, yeah, but overall he, in most cases, has people's wellbeing in mind, think of him saving Yuuji because Magumi asked him to, think of him trying to make sure Riko (a complete stranger) was given a chance to decide what she wanted to do, or at least making her last moments enjoyable. That being said, he is not perfect, and being as strong and untouchable as he is would absolutely cause a gap between him and others, and there are times where he might've gone too far, or when he actually doesn't get why some people do what they do, but he clearly does his best to make himself more approachable for his students (I mean, he actually keeps his Infiny down around them-). His whole motive in life is to create a better world for them, of course he deeply cares for them! And about Megumi, we have to keep in mind that when he took charge of Megumi, he was only what? 17? 18? He had just gone through one of the most traumatic experiences of his life, and was actively loosing his best friend, his whole world was crumbling appart, yet he made sure to fulfill Toji's (the damn cause of his trauma) last wish, maybe not out of empathy, but there was definitely a hint of respect there... Plus, I think he wasn't teaching Megumi to just be reckless and selfish... Megumi can be way too selfless, Gojo was trying to show him that he could achieve a further development on him and his power if he managed to have more faith in himself, I don't see that as a bad advice, honestly, the boy needed it

Bro... megumi was emo before they even met

I don't agree with the part saying that their bound is only professional, I didn't feel it like that. Gojo loves his students and you can see that Megumi does matter for him like at the end of his flashback. When he was young he was kind of egoistic but now, we can't reduce Gojo's character that way. His development show that he care, even if he doesn't clearly express his feelings like with Geto, Nanami or Yaga

Gojo does lack some points in emotional intelligence, but he was very good to Megumi and pushed him to be his best self. It's moreso that Megumi lacks a selfish sense of ambition that a sorcerer must have to become incredibly powerful. Their temperaments are vastly different. Gojo did his best, however. He stepped up and basically raised him as a mentor/uncle.

Megumi has never even attempt to repress his emotions lol. He was a frowny kid even before meeting Gojo. Tsumiki and Gojo's influences altogether made Megumi who he is today.
And Gojo was not selfish by the time he adopt Fushiguro siblings. Gojo already faced the reality of not being able to change anything all alone, that's why he never wanted anyone to be left alone ever again.

Megumi - I'll punch you ! 😂
Gojo- Megumi chan, I'll have you master twinkle twinkle little star ✨
The video- THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS PROFESSIONAL
my honest reaction... - HMM RELATABLE 🤔🤔

Sis have you watched JJK properly? Megumi's nature is just like that he was emo even the first time Gojo met him. Its just Megumi's nature that he doesn't show his feelings coz of his traumatic past about his father and sister. Gojo also raised him even though theur families were enemies, and Toji almost killed him...Gojo was visibly angry at the higher ups for Yuji who he knew for 2 months, so wont he care about his adopted child raised for 10 years..
And megumi always tries to defend gojo when maki and utahime called him an idiot. He calls him GOJO-SENSEI, which none of the second years do...Being a person like megumi myself, i can tell that people like him are just not so expressive as Yuji, some people find trouble in fully expressing their feelings, its relatable to me so i know...

Aight someone ain’t reading the character guidebook, gege interviewed and JJK light novel for real, if you get to read those stuffs you will definitely know that his relationship with megumi is ‘NOT JUST PROFESSIONAL’ related

Gege said himself in the interview that Gojo is like the guardian to megumi, so he will take megumi along with him for the mission and whenever he’s not busy since megumi was young and he loved to meddling in megumi’s life, they went for sweet, game centre, and etc. more. they spending lot of time together during 9 years, megumi was the first student and only one that he was bonding with after the betrayal of Geto. It’s ironic with the person child that he killed but it is what it is.
Megumi even remembered Gojo’s pattern of eating sweets, like how he will eat this kind of sweet on Sunday or when he’s stressed and stuffs. THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT JUST PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP

Be Fr even in season 1 you see how much gojo cares, when Megumi asks gojo to train him gojo helps him grow into his own and he able to defend himself, not trying it ALWAYS be a team player which is valid in their line of work. Gojo is a great mentor balancing a more lighthearted look on life while also understanding how to cope with the loss they all face. He isn’t afraid and takes opportunities to teach his students

tbh megumi was emotionally repressed even before he met gojo. i mean the boy literally didn't have his parents and was living with his sister alone in slightly bad(?) conditions.
plus, their relationship has NEVER been professional. like are we forgetting how gojo got yuji a room next to megumi just so he could make friends? and he also got him those sweets?? he looks out for him and cares for him. he might not have been the best father/brother figure but he obviously cares a lot about megumi.
and can we even blame him for not being the best? he was literally going through the hardest time of his life AND he had to take care of a child. on top of that, he was literally a child (17 yo) like you can't expect him to be the best guardian out there😭
plus the reason why gojo and yuji's relationship is more 'friendly' is because yuji is just a huge ball of sunshine. like my boy is the biggest extrovert out there so obviously he gets along with him. megumi is more reserved so gojo will obviously not act like a whole child w him😭

Well if you have to chose between being a slave and a student. .... anyone would chose the later....and you can see just how many times megumi curses gojo....do you think it’s normal to curse and joke with someone who you have a "strictly professional relationship " with...😒😒

Gojo is the best father that megumi can ever have, the guy was only a teenager when he adopted two children and rised them to be strong respectful members of the jujutsu society i think you're wrong and totally dont agree with what u said here

And you think Yuji also lacks empathy that's why he bonds with gojo🤡🤡🤡🤡

gojo has already said he’s not a great teacher for some techniques because gojo learns how to do things so easily if he understands the basics he can learn it like simple domain he can’t teach it to yuji bc he learnt it so easily
