They're monetising your data - IOTA deep dive

As more and more devices we interact with daily become smarter and interconnected, there will eventually be a need to have a way to pay for, and log, those transfers between devices. This is exactly what the IOTA foundation envisioned and aimed to solve with their platform.

However IOTA and the tangle is an even more confusing version of the blockchain, so in this video I'll explain what it is, how it works and where its going.

This is without question the most underrated crypto channel on YouTube. There are many decent crypto channels here, but none like this. Excellent and useful analysis.

Reattaching is no longer an issue since chrystallis, that happened in march 2021.
Shimmer is just a testnet that doesn't reset every update, since IOTA needs to be the most stable version
so, every feature on shimmer will be transfered to iota once stable enough.
I think you missunderstand what assembly is supposed to do...
Assembly is a layer 2 that is required for iota smart contracts to work, since it allows permissionless validator pools.
Smart contracts on iota happen on the second layer as blockchain, but that are linked to the iota mainnet. But they need seperate validators, so assembly enables it for anyone to become a validator

Great information. I think the incentive for developers to build on Iota is the savings in user fees for their applications. Low fees are not the same as zero fees. Regards.

The modular capability of iota, and the substack of layers like streams, and identity allow for data use cases no other cryptocurrency can provide with a feeless exchange. Also the only known crypto with a congestion control mechanism built like TCP 👍for fair access.

I think you didnt understand what shimmer and assembly network is about.
Also there are no big players like eth or ada that are feeless.
So everything IOTA is doing is completely new to the cryptospace, since you can even have feeless DataTX.

I’ve been trying to concentrate my crypto portfolio lately into basically just Ether and Algo because I think they will probably be the long term survivors of this long term bear phase. If the best surviving tokens since 2013 were BTC and LTC than I’m reasonably comfortable with my position based on usability and potential.
How do you feel about the LONG-term future of the Ethereum block chain given the potential of the almost unarguably better alternatives such as Algorand?
