The Real Life of Uyghurs in China 🇨🇳 (Urumqi, Xinjiang)

Urumqi, Xinjiang, China - Jack and Paige take a further look into the everyday life of Uyghurs living in Xinjiang.

On our mission to delve into the life of Uyghurs in Urumqi, we spent the day exploring local neighbourhoods. Our adventure began with lunch at a cosy local restaurant where we enjoy Laghman, a hand-pulled noodle dish, and Polo, a fragrant rice pilaf. After our meal, we hit the streets to sample Uyghur hand-churned ice cream and refresh ourselves with freshly squeezed pomegranate juice from street vendors. We find a man selling snakes for medicinal services before venturing deeper into the neighbourhood, where we encountered incredibly warm and hospitable locals. A Lamb BBQ restaurant owner welcomes us into his family-run establishment, offering us free Lamb Skewers while taking about his family and their business. Continuing our exploration, we stumbled upon a local barber shop. Jack decided to get a Uyghur makeover, enjoying the unique experience surrounded by chirping birds. We rewarded the skilled barber and had the pleasure of meeting his family, who greeted us with smiles and warm conversation.

Once you understand why some countries cannot find genocide in Gaza, then you immediately understand why they can find genocide in Xinjiang.

I was not surprised when the barber took care of your mustache, but when he trimmed your nose hair, I was like, wow! what a treat, lol

We normally use a spoon in the left hand and chopsticks in right simultaneously. They work together like a knife and fork, so, instead of lifting the plate with the noodles and eating with just chopsticks- use the spoon to aid the noodles along with the chopsticks. 😊Fantastic video as always.

Thanks for the truth! I rode in Xinjiang in the previous two summer vacations. I was quarantined due to the epidemic once. However, I will go there again this summer because Xinjiang is so big and I haven’t finished riding in southern Xinjiang.

IF you have time, you can visit Qeshqer City (喀什市), which is more west. Xinjiang is famous for beautiful steppes, mountains, and all kinds of landscapes.

Your facial expressions and reactions are very funny (in a positive way) especially when lost in translation. That 34-hour train ride in China vlog really tickles my funny bone😂

Btw, good pronunciation for a tonal language like Chinese, which proves to be very challenging for westerners.

Keep producing good content!
