Do you want a career that challenges you? Do you enjoy working in a fast paced environment? Are you a good communicator? Do you pay attention to detail? Are you interested in helping people get well? Are you at a point in your life where you want to change careers, but attending classes on campus is a hurdle? If so, then the Pharmacy Technician program is for you.

This curriculum was developed using the accreditation standards of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Students will have a working knowledge of standards of practice, quality assurance, patient confidentiality, and communication skills needed in a professional environment.

This program allows entry once per year in the fall term and is often a stepping stone to other opportunities in the field of pharmacy. Hybrid and online courses allow you to take the majority of classes remotely.

COCC is the only community college east of the Cascades to offer the Pharmacy Technician certificate.

You don't need to go to school to acquire the degree, just take the national test.

I have been a pharmacy tech for 15 years and I have not gagged this bad. Research big time before you settle on this as a career especially if you are paying to go to a school for it. You also need to learn the bad side of it. Especially right now.

I lost my job due to Covid19 and I am supposed to start my free pharmacy technician/certification in Maryland but I am hesitant because I was told it's a low salary career and in my state.

Why on earth would you complete a one year program for a job that a high school student can do??

yes, fill prescriptions for life, no chance of an advancing career - and you better not psss off the actual pharmacist or he will get you fired and good luck finding another not already filled position.
