Показать описание

The story of this USAF Douglas C-47 which crashed in the winter in remote mountains in the Yukon Territory, is one of incredible survival and rescue. I hike (and bike) in the massive distance from the nearest road, to visit this spectacular plane crash.
Thanks for watching!

how is this channel so undiscovered and unknown.. IMO best hiking/outdoors/exploring channel out there. Videos are all just so well thought out, educational, beautifully shot and every video takes me somewhere unique that I would have never known existed. The fact that this channel is so unknown kind of adds to the appeal though.. Luke takes us on adventures to hidden gems throughout Canada, while his channel itself is a hidden gem. Thank you for making these videos and please don't ever stop.

Never ceases to amaze me, no matter how remote, or screwed up, or old, SOMEBODY manages to pluck the engines out of these things, every time.

The DC3/C47 is still one of the most beautiful planes ever created, also they seem to have good statistics considering survivability of crashes. You often hear of DC3s gliding down smoothly and slowly coming to a halt largely intact, which is good for passengers.

Those drone shots of the plane on the mountain look unreal!

92 KM OVER 2 DAYS!? That's hella committed (not to mention you got good mountain fitness)! And Nina kept up with you the whole time? Amazing!

Its kinda creepy but cool how the cold can preserve things, parts of the plane look like it has only been there a few days

My father was in the USAF and spent some time in Labrador in the late 50's or early 60's. While there he met a RCMP officer who carried a Thompson sub-machine gun in his vehicle. This RCMP officer told my father that he stumbled upon a similar plane crash in the Canadian bush and he found this gun in the wreckage and carried it as a secondary duty weapon thereafter. This same RCMP officer let my father fire through a full magazine from this gun to allow him to feel the full effect of firing this weapon.

Nevertheless, someone managed to get the engines and instruments out and away.

Having flown DC3’s early in my career, I salute the guys who pulled off that landing. What a shame that so many souvenirs have been removed from a weather preserved wreckage. Nice video Mate ; good skills. Thanks, cheers Mach

This is amazing, love that you included the story and even fact checked rather than just showing the great footage. Subscribed!

Awesome video. I can't believe this channel currently has only 10.4k subs, this is a million sub channel. Well, you are now one sub closer to a million.

Awesome Luke! I've dreamt of visiting this one for years but knew I never would. Thanks for bringing it to me! Nice to see a pristine wreck that hasn't been tagged and still pretty intact!
