My favourite job of the year, I use Karcher stone cleaner, leave for 45 mins, then go over using the pressure washer with patio attachment. Comes up like brand new every time. Also use a blackspot remover every 4 to 5 years.

I've used a K2 Karcher with a Dirt Blaster and did 455 18" square slabs in one day (1, 024 squre feet). Came up lovely 👍

I am power washing a patio tomorrow with a Karcher K5 for a customer. I am sweeping the area first then hoovering it using a black and decker garden hoover. I did a quick test the other day when power washing the artificial grass and * PLEASE NOTE* *DO NOT PRESSURE WASH THE GROUT IN THE JOINTS, IT WILL BLAST IT OUT ON FULL POWER*!! I will let you know how it turns out tomorrow. Thanks for the video. PS I might use patio cleaner if suitable before power washing it off as the client has some lying around.

I've been thinking about buying a Karcher K2. In my 70s, I've little experience of using something like this and have been wavering - to buy or not to buy. This has demonstrated how simple and effective it is to use without requiring a lot of strength. Brilliantly demonstrated! I will now go and buy with confidence, thank you.

I've been using Patio Magic for 15 years and my patio is spotless. The secret is PATIENCE. When used as a cleaner for the first time, you have to wait for a couple of months for it to work properly. I use it twice a year, once in early Spring and once in Autumn, applied with a watering can, 1:4. This way your patio will say LIKE NEW all year round, I guarantee it! And it doesn't roughen-up the patio slabs like a pressure washer does.

If you use the lance next to walls it will spatter dirt up the walls causing a secondary job.

I bought the karcher you've demonstrated last year. Mine came with a separate long handle which made it much easier to use (think of vacuuming a carpet). In my opinion, the wand took much longer so my preference is the round attachment. My patio has white porcelain tiles and they came out beautifully with just water. I've also used it on my brick paved driveway, I'd say it works better on tiles over bricks but I wouldn't be without it now. I bought it at Screwfix when it was on a special offer.

Best to quickly power wash the worse off before using patio magic as it takes weeks to really do its deep cleaning work which lasts for months. Also it’s better to apply patio magic on an overcast day or in the evening to avoid it drying out too quickly. Or, as I do, lay a tarpaulin over the treated area which helps prevent it drying out too quickly and also protects from wandering pets and other wildlife from coming into contact. Win Win.

Great video, thanks. I've just cleaned my very dirty patio with the dirt blaster. While I do recommend it, I could say be careful around the slab joints as it can easily take off the materials. My house is an old build, though, so it is probably why I felt they were coming off quite quickly.

Used a dirt-blaster in the past that resulted in replacing my patio a year or so later as it opened it to frost damage.

I have a porcelain Patio and i use the jet wash patio head. But I also use a brush with a few cheap sponges attached that pick up a lot of the grime first. The patio head then cleans the area with a jet head washing away the lifted dirt. Don’t jet was the grout!! No need for any chemicals

The problem, with using a pressure washer is that over time the surface of the slab is damaged which
produces minute holes and places for the algae to collect. Long term it is much better to use Patio Magic to keep the surface of the slabs undamaged. Patio Magic is not an immediate fix but does work given some time to do it's work! I know as I have been using it for years.

Great video, with very clear demonstrations of all three methods. I also picked up several useful tips that I did not previously know . . .many thanks.

I love using my dirt blaster lance so satisfying. Only thing I found patio magic good for was removing green algea off fence panels and post and block paving but does not clean them.

I got two lances with my Karcher, one turbo & a standard one plus other attachments including the circular patio & garden furniture cleaner head . I also got a small tank attachment for my standard lance, & one larger tank on the Karcher, for adding any car or patio shampoo + treatments supplied by Karcher . These mix in the lance tank or the main chemical mixing tank on Karcher pressure wash machine, there is no need to apply separate chemicals .as the Karcher will do it automatically if stuff is added to tanks if required . I myself don’t use my pressure washer on my motorcycles, I only use the turbo lance on the patio, every ten years when the moss gets too thick & slippy . So only used the pressure washer once since I bought it about 10 years ago . The moss is thick & slippy again so I will be using it again this year, no chemicals just the turbo lance & water. 👍

that's actually a good comparison. In my opinion the bigger karcher attachment isn't too bad if used regularly. I bet cleaning the pation next month with 1st and second method would make the spinning yellow attachment win. Same results, and quicker!

For deep engrained black spots my Karcher pressure direct blaster lance couldnt remove the black sports. Patio magic was a waste of money. Used 15% Sodium Hypochlorite, diluted 3 to 2 parts of water. Worked like 'magic' for 45 sq mtr patio over two years ago. Last year and this Easter only needed to use Karcher T150 patio cleaner which is fast.

The instructions on the reverse of the container make it clear that it kills green mould and algae within typically 2-4 days,
and helps to gently clean the treated surfaces in the following WEEKS and MONTHS. That's why I said that patience is the key word here. The point is that it's not designed to be a general purpose cleaner. The cleaning effect is like a secondary benefit. Once the patio is clean (typically after a couple of months), applying the product twice a year keeps it that way. When I first tried it all those years ago, I tested it against my neighbours pressure washer. We did a side-by-side test of 1 square metre each, and after a couple of months the two squares were absolutely identical. Also, in the case of driveway pavers, it doesn't disturb the sand between the pavers, whereas pressure washing requires the driveway to be re-sanded every time.

Excellent, thanks for that. I did my really dirty block paving 2 weeks ago, it was so bad ! I used the same model Karcher with the same attachment. It did a reasonable job. I was going to buy the same Patio Magic to see if it'll clear it up even further, looks like it probably won't sadly. Great video once more.
