Dig a big pit for the water to drain to. Use the material to build up the runway. Think about large parking lots with a drainage pond.

Can't wait to see that pop up on FAA' VFR chart

Wow, very ambitious! I built a 2200 foot runway, crowned and with proper drainage. Rolled it flat and smooth. Big issue here was clearing the thousands of rocks out. I’m sure you will be as proud of your work as I am of mine. Makes All the work maintaining it worth it.

Love the reality of this video. Literally EVERY project we do on property is minimum of week when thought it would be a day. Every project, no matter how much planning was involved, has dozens of costly and unexpected learning lessons. It gives me an insanely new appreciation and respect for tradesfolk. It's amazing how many interconnected variables are involved in every [seemingly] small decision. Anyway, Runway is in 5 year plan. Kudos and congrats on the rural retreat

Big project, big challenges to overcome. That's what will make the finished project so incredibly satisfying.

Any "skeeters" up there, lol? Love to visit someday. You are a credit to the instructor profession. Thanks so much for the free ground school. It's really helped me.

You could also plant Mushrooms to open up the soil structure with their mycelium roots and thus, improve drainage by opening soil pores.
