After I bought land, put homes on it, built an air strip, I had my friends fly their own private planes out to celebrate our new private airport! The class divide is HUGE.

I know a farmer who built his own airstrip. It's only two miles from a small public airport, but he doesn't have to pay landing or hanger fees.

My Grandpa built his private air strip on our Family Farm in Cromwell, OK. He used for decades. It was right next to I-40. It was awesome flying over the highway low to land. He never took me up! Didn't trust himaelf enough. That always pissed me off. But, Im still here. Very cool location on yours. Thats badass!

As long as you have money it’s doable in most places (minus restricted airspace), I live in a suburb between two major cities and my one neighbor has a 2400’ airstrip behind his house, the land cost millions but it’s possible. Lots of people have helipads here too.

I did the same. Listing with the FAA is not a problem. It takes a while but it eventually shows up on aeronautical charts.
