I have had a good encounter with William Shatner. At Star Trek Las Vegas in 2019, I decided it was time to have a photo taken with him. I've been a Trekkie since 1966 when I was 11. I knew my photo op wouldn't allow any time for more than a brief word or two. As soon as I approached him I said, "After more than 50 years, I thought it was time we met." Then the photographer snapped the picture and I started to walk away. Just as I began to move, Mr. Shatner said "I'll see you here in another 50." I was pleasantly surprised that he took the effort to reply to my comment, especially since there were dozens/hundreds of others in line before and after me. I gave him a smile and a thumb's up and took a nice memory with me. The photo turned out well, too.

There's alot more between Shatner and Nimoy's feud. I think you can see the straw that broke the camel's back on Shatner's own talk show. Nimoy was really proud of a photography book he had just publish. So of course Shatner compared it to a Playboy shot he helped with. You can see Nimoy's blood start to boil over this. Right after this show Nimoy quickly distanced himself from their friendship. Shatner always has to be the center of attention.

The Mulgrew/Ryan problems certainly didn't show through on screen, you'd swear they were buddies.

Regarding Kate Mulgrew’s disliking of Jeri Ryan’s casting as ‘eye candy for the boys’, I can’t recall the exact wording, but I do recall Kate saying something along the lines of ‘I realised later that Jeri couldn’t be blamed for how God made her’

William Shatner is my favorite male diva. The original crew were consummate professionals. You'd never know they had behind the scenes kerfuffles.

I get the feeling that with Mr. Shatner, you either have to accept him for who he is and go along for the ride or allow yourself to be driven crazy.

Guessing the dinner scene between the Klingons and Capt. Kirk and his crew was based on Meyer's and Roddenberry's meeting.

Why was Sulu the Captain of the Excelsior in Star Trek VI? Because by that point Takei and Shatner couldn’t stand to be on the same set with one another but Takei didn’t want to disappoint the fans by not showing up at all.

I remember seeing Brent Spiner in a TNG cast interview many years ago. I’ll never forget what he said when the subject of Captain Kirk came up. “We all hate Shatner.”

In her autobiographical book, "Uhura Speaks", Nichelle Nichols described Shatner as a prima dona and very hard to get along with. Though, as director of a movie (was it "The Final Frontier"?) he became more civil.

Good read or listen, too.

I'm surprised you left off Rick Berman vs everyone. Not alot of cast and crew have nice things to say about him. Also his issues directly affected production and story for TNG to enterprise, as he was the person who was seen as in charge or Trek after Roddenberry past.

According to Shatner's book, he had a pact with Nimoy that they would take turns refusing to be in each movie as a ploy for getting more money.

I was born in the late sixties, I grew up in the 70's and 80's(O.G. S.T.) and was a young dad in the 90's (S.T.N.G - DS9). Now that I'm rapidly approaching 60 being a life long Trekker (a Gen X'er thru and thru) it does my heart good to see this love for trek in capable young hands. I cannot thank you enough for your love and altruistic care for a world treasure that could have gone unappreciated and canceled due to ignorance. KUTGW live long and prosper! ❤

I would love to have seen a Celebrity Deathmatch version of this list, in particular Pulaski Vs the entire TNG crew. The closest we'll get is Shatner Vs Burt Reynolds which they actually did LOL.

Takei's set in the Roast of William Shatner was pretty great. Only people with a long history together could deliver such loving vitriol.
Pulaski was a decent character (played by a very good actress) who simply didn't mesh with the rest of the characters. I honestly think Ro also didn't mesh well with the rest of the characters.
I'm a little surprised that the Shatner-Doohan feud didn't make the list.

Roddenberry: Racism between humans and Kingons shouldn't exist.

Also Roddenberry: Lets have Dr McCoy make a racist comment to Spock every other line throughout the show and the movies.

1:19 There must be more to it if Shatner didn't go to Nimoy's funeral.
Did the family ask him not to come or did he just not feel right being there.

Michael Dorn was sad that Muldar left, feeling that Worf and Pulaski had chemistry together.
