In Brazil, as usual, an extremely curious situation happened, in rare occasions a skilled black slave OWNED slaves! This happened in the 1700 ths in a enterprise which outfitted miners prospetting gold mines in Minas Gerais and elsewere. This was possibly due to the extremely high price of iron tools, and their scarcity. The book " O Banqueiro do Sertão ", or The Banker of the Wilderness, in a pior translation, citei the situation. Very intersting reading for Historical Facts about Brazil and South America. Unfortunately I do not know if an English translation is available.

& let's not forget, the pure blacks from Africa, when first imported to the western world, came from cultures that, *to this day*, are so far *behind* white cultures in terms of societal development, that they're still living in *huts* & most are still *illiterate* because libraries don't exist there; I'd say that explains Thomas Sowells factual statement about pure blacks lagging behind those of mixed black & white ancestry in areas like that. & I don't think that that's a racist statement because not only is it *factual*, but it's not saying that blacks underperform compared to whites because of their skin color, but because of the underdeveloped *culture* they come from; which's underdeveloped to this day because the blacks of those cultures have made no *effort* to develop them like whites & Asians made the effort to develop *their* cultures. If blacks put as much effort into developing their culture as whites & Asians do, this disparity wouldn't exist.
