Who owned the slave ships? What percentage of American Whites owned slaves? What was life like as a White indentured servant? Which countries or regions of the New World did most slaves get shipped to? Which peoples in history never practiced slavery? Which peoples voluntarily freed their slaves? Are there any groups now that still practice slavery? Please, legitimate journalists at France 24, let us know. Thanks in advance!

I wonder what would have happened if a slave boat got disoriented and sailed up a fjoyd in Norway and the captain said to a Viking leader-"Give me a bunch of your people and I'll give you these shiny things?"
I think his slaving days would end there. Get my drift? Jus

Interesting and complicated topic. I remember that in high school slavery in the US was a team debate topic. Interesting debate. Teacher ruled it as a tie because both sides, pro and anti-slavery, had equally good arguments.

Yes servants not slavery but like Las Vegas, what's stays in Africa stays in Africa. It was among the cultures they were servants it wasn't looked upon as slaves. Sometime when one lost their land or one wanted to marry someone daughter such as Jacob did he went and work for laman over 7 years he was a servant to laymen not a slave.) ( Yes it's so much covered up about this slavery in America and it's also, so many other cultures that are hiding behind it, also such as the Arabians they also had slaves and many other cultures that's hiding. much we don't know . Like a certain African culture they were helping to get people off the land. They were the capturing ones . And they also was still some of the royals off the land to and give them to the white man's.Helping the Portuguese. And others. Sharecroppers that came to Africa. . A lot of places in Africa is depressed and in bad shape who knows and not that I'm not heartfelt toward it; I'm just saying that what goes around comes around..) that's why when the Africans come to United States they are so welcome here because they know in the book that the Africans helps people off the land so that's why when they come here they are treated differently and they are welcome because they haven't written in their books how they help them. But a strange situation happened the other day that was pretty sickening and disgusting 7 deputies happened to have a black man in custody but come to find out it was an African and they said they were all trying to help them but he died from them smothering him. That was something to be disturbed but wow!!! Yes it's so much that's going on in United States of America and if anyone ever tried to stand up to do good they go against them. I'm in an apartment that's hitting brothel witchcraft spiritual orgies all I did was came here to get an apartment they harassing me all day long the valence video monitor sensors I haven't had a day-to-day regular life since I've been here and right now I'm too poor to even leave and when I was trying to sit to the table to write resumes and trying to get a job is so distressing and I'm pressing and mentally English and should have taken its toll on me and all day long they have some type of a monitor pulling energy from you and it is done did intentionally it's designed to keep one weak and mind foggy. Just like the citizen and polices was beating black people just like the media making fun of us are still here but only in a different scenario.. what a low-down dark shame smh.

It's funny how you skipped over the part about indentured servitude that's what it was until a black man filed a lawsuit he didn't want his indentured servants to leave him which ended up making slavery legal it was a black man in America who made slavery legal why does everyone keep skipping that part of History?

To the person that said they can't even talk about it I agree with the person that said very sad because once you boy sit and talk about it people that wants a difference they do something about it when you know better you do better but the ones who are in the dark and like things that way they are against it.
