(5/12) Sonata K. 141 by D. Scarlatti - solo classical guitar arrangement by Emre Sabuncuoglu

Показать описание
You can be the judge whether it is the most difficult sonata arranged for guitar, but K. 141 is undoubtedly one of the most elegant and virtuosic Scarlatti sonatas. Its technical difficulty stems from the rapid tempo and the repeated notes in the first theme, so be sure to take a slower tempo during first few weeks of practice as you work out the fingering patterns. Most musicologists concur that Scarlatti imitates the classical guitar tremolo or the sonorities of a mandolin in this sonata. The arrangement is indeed a great practice for tremolo, but there is a twist. Rather than the standard "p-a-m-i" pattern that inevitably breaks the melodic line (as the thumb plucks the bass note), the arranger uses a continuous "a-m-i" pattern for the melody while the thumb strums the chords on the downbeats in order to preserve Scarlatti's original texture.
