For sound, go to your Settings and Adjust the Equalizer.

Bought one, (white) with a stand and I love it,
My wife is absolutely in love with this little device,
She can ask Alexa for recipes and the ingredients will show up on screen, step by step how to make whatever you want,

I am looking at mine now and its Display is just fine to me, also for its size the sound: OMG, not the typical Clock Radio Sound, I adjusted the EQ to be maxed out.
