It was really helpful, because I am newbie in Linux world and had missed the debian pre-install instructions on GitHub

I LOVE the Cool Retro Terminal. Looks like the old ones I used to learn to program at. :-)
And it should, no must, be 80 by 24 characters.
It should open against tty and login if you want to have a real experience. :-)

This is how it looked, just start 'emacs -nw' in the retro terminal.

I know this was a while ago but I’ve been trying to get this to work on my pi4 and it’s giving me problems when I try to run it. Things like QMLTermWidget is not installed and a few other things. I was looking at fixes for it that the guy did for nix I guess but I can’t figure it out on mine. Have you ran into this at all? I guess there are issues with file paths or something? I’ve been trying to figure it out all day

Hey tried installing it today on my pi but it’s coming up with

“QQmlApplicationEngine failed to load component
qrc:/main.qml:148:5: Type SettingsWindow unavailable
qrc:/SettingsWindow.qml:24:1: module "QtQuick.Layouts" is not installed
Cannot load QML interface”

Any advice ?

novaspirit, love your work, you've helped me a ton and a bonus we have very similar interests. I have a quick request and would of a response on weather it is even possible. Can you make a video on a pi 4 or 3b+ dual screen, secondary screen being for PC stat readouts, while the primary is the os on the tv? I have a 3.5 inch tft LCD gpio but I have a feeling that I will need a HDMI lcd, and I see that that is what you have to work with as well. Thanks for the videos and keep up the awesome work!

If you use arch or manjaro, this package is in the official repo.

I really wish things like this would be done without the need for Xorg. I imagine that pygame along could do all those graphical effects.

I wonder if you could throw this is raspian-buster-lite? I know what I'm going to do tonight!

Most of my work is done in the Linux console. GUI's are just too resource intense on SBC's.

This needs Xorg and Qt installed. retro look but heavy and bloated. Not the best choice for an SBC.

This like every other raspberry pi video doesn’t work ! I did everything you said to do and then it says QML TermWidget is not installed. When in the video did you download QML ? Why would you not think to say anything about that until after the tutorial? What the hell is wrong with everyone making these type of videos ? I am so over this stupid shit! I have tons of hobbies and interests but there is something truly special about rpi people, very similar to Linux code people. It’s as if you all think beginners know everything. Just look at how confusing sowrdfish git hub page is.
