We Explored the Isle of Man (AGAIN!) New Adventures in the Isle of Man

In this video exploring the Isle of Man, we'll begin in our base Castletown and explore the ancient Norse Castle Rushen built in the 13th century. Take a town walk and explore the harbour.
We'll visit a vampire grave in Malew Churchyard and as the rain and wind arrive drive to Fort Island also known as St Michael's Isle.
Our first was cut short with hire car issues and the bad weather but we do manage to make it to Peel for our dinner at the Boatyard. If you like a fishy supper this is well worth watching.

Day 2 in the Isle of Man started with much better weather and we started the day with a visit to the Grove Museum. Positioned just outside Ramsey it's a gorgeous setting and offers a unique glimpse into Victorian and Edwardian life. It was the cherished country home of the Gibb family, and their possessions reveal their story through the decades.
Later we took a ride on the vintage Electric Tramway from Douglas to Laxey where had a wonderful Sunday Roast lunch.
To walk the sizeable meal off, we explored Groudle Glen, which is just a magical part of the Island. One of 18 Glen's you can explore this one was once a popular Victorian tourist attraction with stalls, a narrow gauge railway and a pretty waterwheel. Almost everything is gone now but you can find the waterwheel as you explore and the railway has been reopened to take visitors through the glen with a chug!
We ended our day chasing the sunset and spent the last of the daylight hours at Calf Sound on the southernmost point of the Isle. It was a wonderful way to spend the last moments of our second weekend trip to this fantastic place.

Around 14~ years old, I had a friend who's family lived as the landlords in the Grove Museum after moving as our neighbors. So many memories from getting the bus from Douglas and doing all sorts of stuff up there. He was a couple years older and soon learning to drive, so we would practice in the field next to the museum haha. Christmas nativity sets in the barn there too, which me and my dad helped create barn animal noises that was playing over the PA's... playing PC games in his room tucked away inside the residential section of the house. His mum baking all sorts of cakes (professional baker) for weddings etc. Birthday parties, etc etc.

Great memories!

Thank you SO much for this beautiful video. I am glad you got some nice, sunny days (the place looked very gloomy at the beginning) The lunch at Peel looked wonderful, being Italian I thought the large dish was a lasagna! (LOL) The Sunday roast was magnificent! I wish I were there! 😋😋Did you manage to eat all that? 😁😁The sunset on Calf Sound was beautiful. Thank you! Greetings from Argentina!🤩🤩

Much easier to visit places out of season even though some places are shut. What an interesting place, housing very similar to Shetland and Orkney. Thanks =-) Love the video and your research =-)
