I've been using castor oil on my eyelids for years and some oil often gets into the corners of my eyes. I have never had any problem. Recently, my ophthalmologist confirmed my eyes are healthy and my sight good. I'm 81.

She was bullied off TikTok by the castor oil cartel. She was waking up daily with extremely dry, itchy eyes and thought allergies caused it until she saw an eye Dr who told her to stop with the castor oil and he’s seen cornea damage from it before. If her eyes were so irritated and itchy, her rubbing and scratching them a lot could have caused her astigmatism and blurred vision. Now she has dry eyes all the time. Her story is certainly plausible and the TikTok mob who attacked her is crazy. She didn’t blame anyone, said she made a mistake and wanted to warn others. I saw a story of a lady who got dry eye from lasik and committed suicide. This is scary stuff. 😞 Also castor oil in eye drops are sterile - not the Amazon ones she got from an influencer’s TikTok page!

The castor oil MUST be Organic, Cold Pressed, Unrefined and Hexane free!
I put drops in my eyes at night and it got rid of my floaters. That was a long time ago. Then I got a wart on my eyelid and did not know how I would get rid of it and I decided to saturate every night my eyes and my eye lids and in just over a week it was gone. It was like it just melted the wart! I love my Castor Oil. It’s great for dry eye as well. So soothing❤️

Anyone can be allergic to just about anything. Personally, I love castor oil. I use it on my face, body and hair. Sometimes, I mix it jojoba

I use it on my eye when my lids are dry and itchy, like from allergies or dry winter air. I have never had a problem with it, it helps with the dry itchiness do much. For anyone suffering with dry eyes, please make sure you’re taking at least 5000iu of vitamin D3. I had severe dry eyes for years and nothing would help. Some people experience dry eyes in the winter due to not getting enough sun. Vitamin D will heal your dry eyes. I notice when I haven’t taking my vit D3 for days, the dryness will return. Most of us are deficient in vitamin D. I would highly suggest you try this simple method to see if it works for you

I use castor oil regularly on my eyelids and facial skin for about two years now. Game changer for me. Keeps my skin hydrated and helped w/dry eyes. Have no reason to stop. The lady on video may be allergic to it.

I’m wondering what type of castor oil she used. I’m glad she spoke up. I think this girl should not have been bullied on TikTok. I think that’s an unintelligent way to address something like this. She had an experience and spoke up about it. No one should be bullied for that.

It actually healed my dry eye & floaters. I assume this was not organic castor oil in a brown glass bottle, or this very young lady did not have an eye condition that needed healing to begin with. Everything is not for everyone, same as certain medications. I’m allergic to medication & that’s why my eyes are damaged in the first place. Everything on the internet is not a uniform statement that applies to one size fits all.

I developed a problem after applying castor oil on my eyelashes and eyelids that took me at least six months to fully heal. My eyelids were very swollen, I had a red, flaky rash. It was pretty ugly. I think we can all have sensitivities to things that are benign to others. All that to say that while I won’t touch the stuff, I understand other people might love it and have no reactions to it.

Dry eyedrops ( Restasis) actually has castor oil as one of the ingredients and i was prescribed that by my doctor

I suffered with dry eyes for years until I heard that putting castor oil around your eyes, including the lashes might help. Well
it worked for me and I haven’t had to use eye drops since . That was about 6 months ago and I still do it a few times a week.🤷‍♀️

She doesn't say if it's skin (eyelid) or (actual) eye related. If you put something on your eyelids it will almost certainly transfer into your eyes. Anyone who is sensitive to some SPFs will know this. You need at least an inch, if not more, of a margin, especially above the eyes. Oils and creams like to travel. Sometimes if I put a cream on my forehead it will reach my eyes after 8-10 hours. I would never put anything but mascara on my lashes.

I AM a herbalist and read articles of the power of castor oil for the eyes? I also personally have put it on my eye lids and other sensitive parts of body. When it gets in my eyes it stings and can be uncomfortable as the castor oil very pulling. The solution for me was to keep everything clean and go for it. I still put it on my lids and have been doing that many years no complaints. I up would also check where the castor oil you are using is organic from a reputable Sometimes the way things are processed? Was it cold pressed or heat induced? That could answer your mystery too. It works on skin cancer, dry eyes and the overall appearance of your skin. She possibly used an off brand non organic and not cold pressed. I've used it for over a year! Love the results! Mine is also pure organic dark glass bottle ...not the cheap ass Walmart brands.
