Roku vs. Firestick is a common debate between cord-cutters. Both streaming sticks are good, but they differ in how they function.

We’ve used the Amazon Fire TV Stick for years, and really like it for a streaming device. However, we recently added the Roku streaming stick to our cord-cutting accessories and found there’s a lot to like about it.

Is Roku better than Amazon? Watch our Firestick vs. Roku video now to see which is the best streaming stick.

I have both too and I prefer the Roku over the firestick. Roku is simple to use and gets really good updates.

I have both but find my firesticks constantly stick or freeze up or remote stop working!! Never have had issues with the Roku!! It's platform is also much more user friendly

love the roku's. started out with a fire stick about 5 years ago, but love those shortcut buttons on the roku remote and even the 2 user buttons that they added on the roku voice remote pro that you can assign 2 more aps to. cool video.

I am fortunate enough to own both Roku and Fire tv boxes.I enjoy using both and would find it extremely difficult to pick one over the other. Thanks for another great video.

Thanks for another great video. I’ve tried both but prefer Roku. I like having all of my apps/channels front and center without having to scroll through a bunch of ads and recommendations which I didn’t find that helpful anyway.

For me FireStick hands down with the ability to side loading Apps. I do have both connected to my living room 65" Sony OLED. I'm using the Wolf launcher on my FireStick and now has been fully customized to my liking.

I have a 50" 4K Roku TV. I like it.
I also have an nVidia Shield (32bit version); which I use on my 32" Insignia monitor along with my PS2 and an older Sony DVD/Bluray player.
Finally, Comcast/Xfinity gives me a Flex streaming box (free)... which I seldom use, as it isn't as nice as the others.

I recently cut the cord and added a TCL Roku TV, OTA antenna and HD HomeRun. The TCL Roku TV worked fine with the HD HomeRun. So I purchased a Roku 4K stick expecting the same results on my Vizio TV, but it wouldn't get audio with the HomeRun. So I moved the Roku stick to the Sony TV in the master bedroom. And while I did get audio from the HD HomeRun the picture was horribly pixilated. Long story short I sent back the Roku stick and ordered a couple of Firesticks which have worked flawlessly with both TV's and the HD HomeRun.

Excellent review. The Firestick can do things that Roku can't, but man, the Firestick's navigation SUCKS. I have a mixture of both devices in my house.

I've both roku and fire stick one of them on my living room tv and the other at my room tv, but I like roku little better cause you buy a replacement remote for cheap and the home screen menú is easier to navigate

We have both devices in the house, I use the Roku and the wife the firestick. My wife plays with the device all the time and when she can't get what she wants she goes crazy. She doesn't know what she is doing half the time and when I went into to finally try the thing she could not explain how to use the remote. My Roku is old as it was given to me 3 years ago. With her firestick I am reminded of internet service from the 80s The firestick is really not for someone who can barely pull up email account on a computer. I am in my very late 70s and have forgot so much about the computer that the Roku is as easy as a calculator
The firestick may be fine for people younger than 50 but not for people about to turn 80. I guess the over 50 in the country don't matter as they rarely text and driver like the younger people do. Hell I still prefer talking than trying to text. Same goes for the Streaming devices, the Roku was very easy learn and using the remote with my hand stills does Roku when I have the remote from a firestick

Like you alluded to - Roku has a simpler no thrills interface to navigate though I wish the aesthetics was updated —- though Fire Stick has a more busy and cumbersome interface it is prettier looking.

Thank you for the video. Trying to cancel my relationship with cable. Just signed up for T=Mobile internet and now will purchase the Roku express. 2 questions: do I need a roku stick for each TV (1 smart and 3 not so smart). How can I get live MSNBC and CNN?

Great video. So I’m looking to switch to a streaming service. The channels that I watch are Amazon prime, Netflix, HBO max, Disney plus, YouTube, YouTube kids, channels like abc, nbc, fox, nfl network, nba network, and espn.

Would I be able to stream these in HD?

Thanks

If roku had a browser they would hands down have the best device on the market. I have 2 fire cubes and they run great...but my nvidia shield rules.
