I'm really liking the MGA Leica-Like Film Simulation recipe from Mark G. Adams and I think it's become my new favourite recipe. In this video, I share some sample photos from my morning photo walk around Downtown Calgary, Alberta.

The MGA Leica-Like created by Mark G Adams is based on the output of Leica digital cameras and phones. Leica cameras have a number of colour profiles, and Mark created this recipe to match the overall feel of Leica colours, with deeper blacks, and a subtle amount of red and blue colour shift.

MGA Leica-Like Film Simulation Recipe:
Push-Pull Process: 0
Film Simulation: Provia
Grain Effect: Off
White Balance: Auto
WB Shift: R:1 B:1
Highlight Tone: -1
Shadow Tone: +1
Colour: +3 (Try +4 in some instances)
Sharpness: +4
Noise Reduction: -1

Thanks, just woke up to this. Really like the way these look in your photos. I love having people in my photos, landscapes, cityscapes, anything! I just feel images are a lot less sterile looking then. Shared on the Fuji groups 👍

Excellent set of photos, enhanced by a very nice film simulation

can you make a leica M8/M9 film simulation ? due to contrast, ( glow ) probably need a promist for that or turn down the sharpening or clarity id assume

Like the Leica like (avoid alliteration, always😁). 2 w/green container pops out of otherwise monochromatic scene, nice. 4 light trap works. 16 has real potential contrasting older church w/modern buildings - different (tighter/upward) perspective might help isolate and emphasize the differences; definitely worth “working the scene”, IMO.
BTW, Scott, ever consider doing a few POV vids? Take viewers along with you on your walks; add running commentary about your thought process for various compositions; show off your fine city, too. I’m sure you’ve seen lots of the popular genre on YT by street ‘togs. Would take the channel up a level, as a bonus. (Whatever you decide, predict 6k subs in 2 weeks👍.)

The +3 color looks a lot more natural than it would if you were to boost saturation in lightroom or capture one.

I don't feel they have the Leica colors. But they do look like Panasonic Lumix colors. Cheers!
