Quick change rear ends have been the standard in racing and hot rodding for decades. They allow you to change final drive ratios with a simple gear change, so racers can maximize performance from track to track, and hot rodders can switch from highway to race gearing in minutes. In this video we explain how a quick change works in comparison with a standard, fixed-ratio rear end.

Since 1958, Winters has been crafting the highest quality performance rear ends and driveline components for racers and hot rodders alike. If we can answer any questions or if you’d like to view our online catalogs or request a printed copy, here’s how you can reach us:

I got to give this man respect, he got me understanding a QC in under 51 seconds. I've changed more than a few gears in our outlaw sprint car and now I know why they let me have all the fun jobs replacing header gaskets and dropping oi pans and I didn't even get anything but a pit pass for pay.

At one time they were used to drive to the drag races on the hi-way, then race, by reversing the spur gears.

A winters quick change is what Cup should go back too instead of their current transaxle.

These things were so easy to drain and use the combo chart to make any ratio we could dream of.

Does this give any advantage in power or what? Like, why was this part invented?
