Better with ankle jeans for sure. And I agree! They're "ugly" but I like "ugly" things, kinda the same phenomenon of dad shoes. I like that they're comfortable, practical and even though they're not dressy, they look good in a weird way. I've been thinking of getting these for a good few years myself and never pulled the trigger.
