It's a different kind of comfort in my opinion. Took me 4-5 months to break in my pair of Bostons. Now they're my go-to pair for everything. Going for the oiled leather variant makes it kinda suitable for any kind of weather.

This is why I have ended up going barefoot. The arch-support and heel-rise on 'comfort' footwear like this just never did me any favours at all. I understand that opinion is divided on this, but as soon as I started using shoes that do nothing to your foot and just leave it be to do its thing, I realised I could never go back to footwear that pushes your foot this way and that. I am glad Birkenstocks see the value in an anatomically correct toebox, though. That's a good start.
