Minelab GPZ & 5000 - Playing with Settings

Hi all, just a random video, playing around with the GPX5000 and GPZ7000, seeing how they react to two different nuggets. Ground was very water logged that day, so makes for some interesting results. Settings I thought would work better were actually working against me. So what does it prove? Basically what I always tell people, there are no "best settings". You need to tune to conditions on any given day. Spend the time to get to know your detector, the settings options, and the coils you have in your kit bag.

Great video Nenad and as usual full of useful information, have been running the 17x13 on the 5000
a lot lately and am really enjoying the combo.

Hi Nenad, with the 7000 I work highly mineralized ground around central Queensland and find high yield difficult best very low threshold and go very high on the volume and sensitivity and it pings ultra small gold at good depth and still picks up 10 gram plus bits very deep.

Just a comment about working wet soils, and which machine is better. The GPZ likes damp ground, and so does the GPX to a point. Very wet ground, particularly if there is any salt in the soil, the GPZ does not like it, but going into Patch Locate will help. On the GPX, the spiral/flat wound coils can "saturate" earlier, this is heard by the threshold sort of moaning. A normal wound mono coil is better, but in very wet ground, I've always had good success with DD coils on the GPX's and GP series units. On the GPZ I find the day directly after a lot of rain is usually not good. But give it a few days and the machine runs sweet.

I wonder if a Mindlab 22 or 66 would find the nuggets. I would love to see that video.
