Some tiger documentaries that I've watched showed that tigers are actually more social than previously thought. (one clips showed the male tiger relaxing in water with a her cubs are there) and an exciting study showed a male tiger raising his two cubs after the mother was killed. Love that with documentaries you can actually see the timeline of advancements of our knowledge of animals..

I live 30 kms away from Sunderbans. In 1922, a British officer came to hunt a 12 feet tiger. They gathered men from village and cornered the beast. They made a circle around . The tiger, in a moment of desperation attacked the weakest part of the circle. In one clean sweep with the paws he beheaded one hunter and killed another. They could never catch him again.
