It’s crazy how quickly things have changed. Ten years ago they were introducing this wacky thing that people called a quadcopter and now I’m 3D printing a GoPro mount for a racing drone that you can build in your dark basement

Here in 2020 with my Mavic Air 2 makes this blast from the past seem like it was 50yrs ago lol. My buddy had one of these back in the day and I thought it was unbelievable. Now this little drone that I fold up into my backpack has 4k camera, autonomous flight modes, and 6 mile range. What will we have 10yrs from now?!

Back when drones were a super new weird thing haha

@gtoonstra we have the heat shrink off so people could see what it looks like.

C rating has to do with current, not voltage. It's gives the max current that you can safely draw from the battery.

If you have a 1000mAh 20C battery, you can safely pull 1000*20 = 20 000 mA or 20 Amps from that battery.

Now if only HobbyKing would sell a complete Quadcopter kit.... sweet. Another quality video... keep up the good work!

Love your channel guy, keep up the great work! I picked up one of these last week, great fun and so stable even a child can fly it, will post some videos soon.

I was starting to forget what it's like to watch painfully awkward videos.
Thanks guys!

@SvenOkonomi Actually, in the English dictionary it is pronounced this way: [sod-er]. Look it up. ;)

The AR Drone 1.0 was the start of my drone daze, ever since then I've had my head in the clouds.

A correction: higher C doesn't give you more voltage. C rates are for current discharge in other words higher C means you can draw more current and since power is the product of voltage and current it means you can reach more power with higher C.

Thanx,
I would reccomend you put the pipe down until AFTER the show (no, it does not come with the iPad)

@3:45, the adapter doesn't have heatshrink. It's a flying time bomb!!! :). Any short-circuit (which happens easily now, e.g. when handling) will give you a poof of smoke and probably burn a track on the lipo PCB, rendering it useless. In extreme cases, the lipo may overheat and cause a lipo fire.

@arsitama The estimated range is around 50 meters, it does not require line of sight to maintain control. (obsticles can reduce the range of course depending on what they are)
The standard app made by Parrot does not record, but there are a couple of 3rd party apps that do.

@rcjoseb make sure to have a 2 camera FPV system on it with software to switch cameras at will or display both at once on a split screen. We won't count the receiver and video screen as part of the price. Looking forward to your money saving quadcopter!

"Awkward... caw..." You guys are hilarious. I can't believe it took me this long to discover your channel. Keep up the great vids.

however in general a battery rated at a higher C will have less voltage sag when more current is drawn, delivering more overall power at the same amperage

Drachenhebron

note: more C is not more voltage dilivered, more C means higher discharge rate, if the battery is 11.2v 1000mah and 25c it means it can diliver 1 amp in 25 seconds

@slisgrinder actually it can mean higher voltage. If you're drawing close to the C rating of the battery you're going to get voltage sag--your voltage will fall. With a higher C rating you can deliver full voltage at the same wattage draw. So they're partially correct. As usual for them....
