Imagine being an invader entering or landing in an American city. You look around to see where you’re being shot at from and see muzzle flares in every window of every building in the city. It would basically be like that.

Each American state also has its own army, the “National Guard”. Don’t forget Coast guard either. Even if we had a lot of our military overseas in a surprise attack we’d still have plenty of military still at home.

It may be practically impossible for the US to be invaded by a foreign government, but the biggest threat is from within. When joining the military, you take an oath to defend against all enemies both foreign and domestic. When joining the Navy, I took that oath back in the early 80's, and to this day I still stand by that oath, whether it's a foreigner or American citizen on or off American soil.

I was told by someone, whose position at the Pentagon put him in the know, that the plans to defend the USA included the rising up and the use of partisan fighters, most of whom have their own weapons, ammunition and supplies, and who know the terrain. He also told me that what happened in the (original) movie "Red Dawn" would almost certainly happen in real life, but all across the country (basically in any area that hadn't been nuked).

During my 12 years in the army, I can't recall a single time where we trained for an invasion of the USA. Everything was aimed at Europe or Asia.

Tunnelling would face at least 2 massive challenges:
1. A tunnel large enough to handle battle tanks and other mechanized units would be _massive_ . It would require the kind of boring machines would be easily detected at the start point.
2. Any such tunnelling and subsequent armor unit movement would set off seismic detectors.

I went into Canada for a day trip.The people running the excursion said don't look at the border agent, don't try to talk to them & hold your passport open picture upright near your face. They're pretty diligent about who they let in! And out of their country. Glad we're friends. I'm not sure invaders would fare so well🤷‍♀️

Another great video Diane, but you forgot to mention that there is 5 guns per American and they know how to use them. Japan was the last country with a passing thought of invading the USA until their top general surmised that an Invasion would not be possible since there would be a sniper behind every blade of grass. American Soldiers have to fight according to the Rules of War, whereas American citizens are not hindered by such constraints. We don't tolerate any bullies and will make sure they know it.

I don’t think an invasion would ever happen due to the possible use of nuclear weapons instead. Let’s hope neither ever happens.
