One thing I've been trying recently is to move as much as possible into CSS. So instead of writing the size and position using DAX, instead setting the value as a CSS Variable, then setting size and position as a CSS calc() expression.

The advantage to this is that a text editor + web browser inspector is a much faster way to experiment with changes / new visuals than re-writing DAX and waiting for a visual to refresh. I've even created visuals by starting with the SVG in a browser, and once it was ready all it needed in DAX was setting the variables to the actual values instead of my test values.

The downside is calc() expressions can be more limited and fussier than writing DAX, but I've found this is more than paid off by the instant feedback and using an editor that knows SVG and CSS.

Good morning Reid, greetings from UK! Thank you so much for continuing to inspire us and share your knowledge!

One question please, on your Blog Site for the example PBIX download, it downloads a file called "For Daniel" with a 3rd Party OKViz visual. It doesn't contain any of the example DAX or SVG measures shown in your video. I just wondered if this is intended! Shall we follow your video the replicate the SVG Dax measure?

Kindest regards,
Imran

on your PBIX file, when I look at Reid's SVG Templates when I remove the "Progress Bar" measure form the table in the bottom left the "IBCS Bullet" column changes. Then if I add back the Progress bar the image in the "IBCS Bullet" changes again. I would have expected the bars to stay the same regardless of what other measures are added. Is this expected?
