I have Powered speakers and I recently got a Yamaha receiver which has the banana plug/wired speakers module and of course, it has to go to a Passive speaker. Given that mine are powered, I was thinking of connecting that input through an RCA to avoid having to buy brand new passive speakers... is that possible? Thank you!!

If I have one speaker wire and want to connect red and white to each side of the speaker wire (4 plugs total) will those adapters work? It looks like each adapter requires two sides of wire.

I am a low information electronics person. I am trying to add speakers to a MRS-4 zoom Multi-Track recorder. I have RCA wires and speaker wire. Anyone know how I select the correct wires and splice them properly so my Track Recorder plays through wires connected to my speaker? The speaker has inserts with tabs to press down and insert speaker wires. Which to I connect on both the speaker end and the RCA to device end? Any tech advice would be greatly appreciated. Norm

You are missing some pretty basic information here which could cause your viewers problems.

When cables come out of the back of an amplifier as bare wires they are normally hi powered to drive speakers.
When cables come out of the back of an amplifier using RCA plugs they are usually low powered to pass audio (and video) at a low level to other equipment.

Connecting high power outputs to low power circuits will almost certainly result in overdriving input circuits causing damage to your equipment.
Connecting low power outputs directly to speakers can also cause damage to amps but will almost certainly result in no sound being heard because the signal amplitude is too small.

As with most things electronic there is more to it than just making the plug fit.

I have a similar situation but my receiver is a Denon that I just bought it has the traditional banana plugs ports for the first 5 channels and right above the subwoofer preout there a red and white RCA ports labeled surround back/front height and each one has left and right I tried to connect RCA to speaker wire adapter and connect straight to the speaker and I get no sound. I also tried just taking a pair of working rca cables and plugged into the ports and the other end into a 2 channel receiver with no success can you tell me how to get the front height speakers working

I have a pair of speakers requiring speaker wire. Questions: 1. Can I use an RCA plug, splice one end open to use as the black and red wire to connect to my speaker? 2. Then just plug that RCA end to the back of my TV? Or I must have a receiver or amp? (I thought I just plug speakers into back of TV and they work).
