The sketch doesn't surprise me, because I know one of the big things Red was always upset about was the hard limit on map size, and the fact that looping the edges was simply impossible. To see him go all-in on stitching dozens of maps together, and possibly having them all loop, really feels like he's finally getting to do the Terraria he always wanted.

idk, this all just kind of reminds me of Noita in how its all laid out. Though admitantly, i'd be up for a more fleshed out world as long is it's not too hard to get around in initially.

as a minecraft player who only recently (as in, the last half decade) got into looking into terraria stuff, the tought never occured to me that with terraria being more focused on progression and killing bosses (as oposed to minecraft where bosses are an optional challenge that unlocks a few quality of life features) the devs would want to make a second game entirely, but now watching this short i had the epiphany that it definitely makes sense if they wanna make a new progression system and new bosses with new mechanics

I'd actually love that, imagine a void biome beneath hell and above space, it always has a suffocation effect unless you're in a suitable npc house, torches and fire weapons don't work cuz there's no oxygen so you need to use a new varient of lighting
